Terms and Conditions.

Welcome to The Wedding Sitter. By booking with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These are here to make sure everything runs smoothly for you, your tamariki, and our team.

Booking & Deposit

  • A $75 booking fee and a 25% deposit are required to confirm your booking.

  • All costs include GST.

  • Payment of the deposit confirms your acceptance of these terms.

  • Travel costs apply for events more than 15km outside Wānaka CBD (set at the IRD rate).

Payments

  • The remaining balance is due 14 days before your event date.

  • Late payments may result in suspension or cancellation of services.

Cancellation Policy

  • Within 30 days of event: 100% of the booking fee is payable.

  • 31–60 days before event: 50% of the booking fee is payable.

  • More than 60 days before event: Full refund (minus the $75 booking fee).

Rescheduling:

  • Requests must be in writing at least 30 days before the event.

  • Rescheduling is subject to availability and may incur a $50 admin fee.

Force Majeure:
If circumstances beyond our control (e.g. natural disaster, government restrictions, pandemic) prevent us from providing services, your booking can be rescheduled or credited to a future event. Please note the deposit and booking fee are non-refundable.

Services Provided

Our team will:

  • Provide age-appropriate, responsible childcare.

  • Plan fun activities for tamariki.

  • Assist with meals, snacks, and refreshments (supplied by the client).

  • Prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all children in our care.

  • Communicate with you about any incidents or issues during the event.

Your Responsibilities

  • Children remain your responsibility until our contracted start time.

  • Provide a safe environment for our team.

  • Share all necessary information about each child (contact details, medical needs, allergies, emergency contacts).

Health & Safety

  • We take every reasonable step to keep children safe and happy.

  • A risk assessment will be carried out, but parents/guardians remain responsible for providing accurate information about their child’s needs.

  • Children must not attend if they are unwell.

Our Team

All sitters are engaged as independent contractors. Every sitter has:

  • A current Police Check

  • Two verified references

  • First Aid certification

Liability & Confidentiality

  • While we work with qualified, vetted sitters, The Wedding Sitter is not liable for incidents outside our reasonable control or for undisclosed medical/behavioural needs.

  • We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss.

  • All client information is treated as confidential.

Agreement

By confirming your booking and paying the deposit, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
